NewPCGadgets Smartphone Coaster

As the holiday season approaches, I’m eagerly awaiting the holiday party and cocktail invites that come my way this time of year.  It’s a fantastic opportunity to really connect with friends and family–that is, if you can actually get your friends and family to pay attention.  Thanks to NewPCGadget’s Smartphone Coaster, meaningful conversations and eye to eye contact are soon to be a thing of the past.  The Smartphone Coaster is a stainless steel  stand which gives you a 60 degree view of your phone at any social gathering.  No longer will you have to dig in your purse or pocket to take out your phone (because we all know what a drag that can be…),now you can easily adorn any fine dining establishment or home coffee table with your new Smartphone coaster!  Nervous about your upcoming blind date?  Don’t stress.  According to Engadget’s review, “Smartphone Coaster keeps your eyes on the prize, even while you eat”.  So, it doesn’t really matter what you say or how you look, so long as your date has his Smartphone Coaster, your sure to hit it off!  According to Smartphone founder Michael Schriner, having a Smartphone Coaster will make you the ”cool cat” in the room.  Sorry Mr. Schriner, what it will do is make you the “dumb ass” of the room.  If you can’t sit down for a dinner or conversation with someone without having to have your phone right in front of you on a freakin’ stand, then you don’t deserve to break bread with anyone.  I’m guilty of checking my phone a lot, even during dinner or while having drinks with friends.  I always apologize and spend 2 mins at most.  I think we are all guilty of that.  However, the way the Smartphone Coaster is marketed is socially irresponsible.  A lot of people lack interpersonal communication skills already and the Smartphone Coaster will only contribute to that!  -Lady Lattimer
